Avenue Primary School is a welcoming school where everyone is valued equally in a safe and supportive environment.  It recognises and develops the potential of each and every person, empowering them and giving them the confidence to play a positive role in society.  Our pupils aim high, believe they can succeed, take responsibility for their own learning and develop as independent learners who think carefully and reflectively.

We support the NSPCC Underwear Rule

See NSPCC - The Underwear Rule for details.

Welcome to our school

The aims of this website are to provide prospective parents, carers and children with useful information about the school, especially if you are looking around Sutton schools to see which is the most appropriate for your child; to provide prospective staff with information about why they would want to work here; and to give current parents, staff, governors and pupils up-to-date information at the click of a button!

Enjoy your visit!

How to apply for a school place

Applications for our Nursery or our Reception classes (to start in September 2015) should be submitted online through the Local Authority. All the information you need is available on LB Sutton's website here.

This is for children born between 1 September 2010 and 31 August 2011 (Reception) and between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012 (Nursery).

You have until 15 January 2015 to apply. From October we organise tours of the school for you to see whether Avenue is right for your child - please contact our school office (020 8642 5138)  to book yourself on a tour. Please note that we ask you not to bring any children with you on this occasion.

Governing Board Statement 13/14

Paragraph 10 of the Department for Education's (DfE's) advice on The School Governance (Roles, Procedures and Allowances) (England) Regulations 2013 says it is good practice for a maintained school's governing body to publish an annual governance statement.

Information about our school (such as End of Key Stage Results) and links to the DfE Data Dashboard are available using the menu above.

Our Governing Board produced this report in September 2014, reporting on the academic year 2013/14.

This week's Right...

Our work towards the Rights Respecting School Level 2 includes a focus on one of the 42 Articles each week. This week is:

Article 19: Governments must do all they can to ensure that children are protected from all forms of violence, abuse, neglect and bad treatment by their parents or anyone else who looks after them.
